A Quantitative Analysis

Abstract

This respective master thesis investigates how ritual violence in Germany is a present phenomenon in the psychosocial experience and in what way it is constructed. In order to analyse this aspect, quantitative data collection by the use of an online questionnaire was sent to psychotherapists, specialized advice centers and trauma clinics working across Germany. This resulted in the fact that out of 1070 questioned persons, half (N = 431) had in fact had contact with ritual violence in their psychosocial work. Furthermore, the results demonstrated that the methods of ritually violent groupings are in line with the existing specialized literature. In most ritually violent groupings children and adults are the victim of sexual exploitation. The persons concerned are being conditioned or programmed specifically for religious and/or criminal purposes, often in the young age between 0 and 6 years. The resignation of such a grouping is successful at around 26.44 years and is often solely possible due to seeking external assistance. It is frequently the case that those affected are severely traumatized and many times are not able to remember the ritual violence as the result of dissociation.
